Offers were expected to flood in for the 28-year-old forward, but interest has been thin on the ground – potentially due to much-publicised struggles with injury down the years – and Calvert-Lewin is taking matters into his own hands when it comes to landing another contract.

He has been heavily linked with Manchester United in the past, with it not that long ago that the Red Devils were supposedly willing to pay £50 million ($67m) for his signature. A move to Old Trafford may still be on the cards.
